Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
Clinical Supervisor

As a psychotherapist and practice owner, I seek to make a space for clients that invites us to observe a client's life, environment, beliefs, values, goals, and actions from a place of compassion and desire for growth. I believe in the potential and value we each possess and help my clients overcome obstacles, and create a life filled with purposeful attention to the values, goals, and relationships that matter most to them.

I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist working in-person and via telehealth with clients across California. I treat individuals, couples, and family units.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the California School for Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. I next obtained my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego. My clinical experience includes Vista Hill’s ParentCare, UCSD Outpatient Psychiatric Services, UCSD’s Co-Occurring Disorder Clinic, and intensive outpatient settings for severe co-occurring disorders. I have also worked in private practice for the last 8+ years working with individuals, couples, and families. I have had the privilege to guest lecture on family therapy theories in USD’s graduate psychiatric nursing program. I have extensive training in Gottman Method from The Gottman Institute, completing levels I, II, and III, as well as additional training in trauma, infidelity, GottSex, and Couple and Addiction Recovery (CAR). I also have advanced training in CBT and ACT.

I am the owner and clinical supervisor of A Place to Grow Psychotherapy, allowing me the ability to promote and facilitate growth within the field working with associate therapists to develop their clinical skills and serve clients. I felt a deep calling to become a therapist to help others make the most of their own lives and relationships. Aside from being a therapist, I am a wife and a mother. I enjoy golfing, swimming, and taking advantage of our beautiful surroundings in Southern California.

My training and experience emphasize the significance of connection. I am dedicated to working with couples to cultivate the compassion, determination, and trust required for couples to thrive. Within the structure of the Gottman Method, I work with clients to prioritize commitment while also changing unhelpful patterns in communication and conflict. Our work together also attempts to repair areas of broken emotional connection and rebuild trust.

I am also passionate about serving couples and individuals struggling through infertility, miscarriage, infant loss, pregnancy, and the postpartum period. I work with clients to navigate this major life transition.  I am trained in perinatal mood disorders and their treatment through Postpartum Support International.

In a former role as a Bereavement Counselor for Hospice, I worked with clients to heal from the many varieties of grief. I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families experiencing anticipatory grief, ambiguous loss, bereavement, and Alzheimer’s and Dementia diagnoses.

I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from The California School of Professional Psychology, a Master’s degree in Literacy Education from Walden University, and a Bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne College. When working with individuals, I predominantly use Narrative Therapy and Mindful Self-Compassion. For couples work, I remain within the empirically based framework of the Gottman Method.

As a human, I am an intentional parent and partner. I have been a military spouse for 20 years, and learned much about the beauty of marriage and friendship through my relationships with fellow military families.  These experiences have enriched me as a parent, wife, daughter, and friend.

Associate Marriage & Family Therapist

As a psychotherapist, I care deeply about helping individuals navigate life's challenges and build a deeper understanding of themselves. I specialize in working with adults and teens facing anxiety, depression, perinatal and postpartum challenges, as well as those dealing with general life stressors. My therapeutic approach integrates Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which empower clients in our work together to explore and process their emotions while transforming unhelpful thought patterns into ones that better serve them. I deeply value the power of empathy and offer a compassionate, inclusive, and supportive environment for individuals of all backgrounds. I enjoy helping those seeking to improve their emotional well-being and gain deeper insights into their lives. I am committed to being an ally to all, fostering a safe space where each person is heard, supported, and empowered to thrive.

I earned a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Sofia University and have worked with a multitude of clients at The Family Guidance and Therapy Center in San Diego prior to joining A Place to Grow Psychotherapy. I completed the Postpartum Support International Maternal Mental Health training as a means to better serve individuals and families as they transition through the adjustment into parenting and family life. I am a wife and mother and have found that my own parenthood experience has enriched my understanding of humanity and enhances my ability to connect authentically with my clients. My personal interests include dance and art, with ballet being my first love. It is through these creative outlets that I find joy, mindfulness, and connection to my most present self.
